DESCRIPTIVE TEXT Descriptive Text is a text that describes an object, such as a particular person, place or thing.
THE PURPOSE OF DESCRIPTIVE TEXT The purpose of Descriptive Text is to describe and reveal a particular person, place or thing.
GENERIC STRUCTURE OF DESCRIPTIVE TEXT • Identification. The initial paragraph contains an explanation of a person, place, animal or object will be described. • Description. contains further elaboration of the topics discussed.
LANGUAGE FEATURE OF DESCRIPTIVE TEXT – Specific noun. – The use of the adjective. – The use of simple present tense. – Action verb.

Colosseum
The Colosseum is located in the city of Rome, Italy. Construction started under the Flavian dynasty, This building is the largest amphitheater in the world and it is the greatest work of Roman architects. Now, the building is the most visited tourist attraction in Rome.
The Colosseum is a building in the form of an oval wall that surrounds an oval arena where various performances are held as entertainment for the citizens of the city of Rome. But now what we can see from the building is the rest of the ruins caused by the earthquake.
The building is made of concrete and sand. The size of the building is 29,484 square meters and the arena size is 24,000 square meters. The height of the outer wall is 545 meters, and the height of the inner wall is 48 meters. There are 80 entrances that can be used to enter this building, but there are only 76 doors that can be used by ordinary people. While the other four doors are special doors used by emperors, officials, and gladiators who will fight. The emperors and officials used the doors on the south and north to enter the arena. The other two doors are doors for gladiators. The first door is located in the east, where gladiators who will fight enter the arena through this door, known as the Gate of Life. On the other hand, the west door is the Gate of Death, the door used by gladiators who died after the battle to be brought out.
The arena is in the center of this building and is located lower than the audience seats. The Colosseum can accommodate up to 50,000 spectators who will occupy seats in a descending style. The first tier of seating, which is closest to the arena, was used by the emperors and dignitaries of Rome. The higher the seat, the lower the level of the audience. The floor of the arena that was once made of wood and covered in sand has been damaged, revealing an underground structure consisting of secret passages, chambers and animal cages where Gladiators and beasts reside before the match. This underground structure is called the hypogeum.

Pink Beach
Pink Beach is one of the beaches on the island of Komodo, East Nusa Tenggara. Pink beach is one of seven beaches in the world that has pink sand, and one of two beaches in Indonesia that has pink sand.
It is natural that many say that Pink beach is one of the hidden little paradises on the island of Lombok because the beauty of this beach is quite stunning for anyone who visits it. Pink beach sand, clear blue sea, coupled with the natural scenery around this beach which is still beautiful so that it adds its own beauty to Pink beach.
The color of the sand on this beach is indeed different from the color of the sand on other beaches on the island of Lombok, so one of these abnormalities is the advantage of this one beach in attracting tourists to visit. The pink color in the sand is formed because the original white sand grains mix with pink coral flakes, and have a reddish effect after mixing with sea water, then the reflection of sunlight makes the pink color of the sand more visible.
On this Pink Beach there are a lot of marine organisms. No less than 1,000 species of fish, 260 types of coral reefs, and 70 types of sponges can be found here. Having a lot of marine life, this place is a suitable spot for snorkeling and diving for marine sports lovers.
